The IATF 16949 Internal Audit Class is wrapping up today in St Marys. The 3-day course, geared for manufacturers with customers within the automotive industry, is led by Kevin Smith, President of Vie Associates.
In October 2016, the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) published a revised automotive industry standard to replace ISO/TS 16949:2009. The ISO 9001 requirements are now published separately from the new IATF 16949:2016 requirements, however they remain the foundation for the new automotive standard. As of October 2017, audits will no longer be conducted for the old ISO/TS 16949 and all certifications to this standard will expire in September 2018.
NWIRC’s IATF 16949 Internal Auditor 3-day course covers requirements of both standards, including the new IATF 16949 requirements for internal auditors regarding core tools and customer-specific requirements. The next class is scheduled for August 8-10 in Erie. Class size is limited and these sessions fill up fast due to the looming deadlines for compliance, so early registration is recommended. NWIRC can also schedule onsite training sessions for a group of employees at the same company. Contact Molly Reichard with questions at (814) 898-6888.
