At my first meeting for Lean Together, I was thinking ‘what did I get into, this won’t work for us’. But, after you learn more about 2 Second Lean, it’s awesome! It’s a way of thinking to make improvements and work together as a team. The biggest battle is getting people to ‘buy in’ and accept change. The program works, and I enjoyed learning about 2 second lean.
Last year the NWIRC managed projects with over 90 clients in Northwest Pennsylvania. The impact of our projects totaled $8.6 million in new client sales revenue, $2.1 million in cost savings, and $14.9 million in new business investment. We know how to develop solutions to your problems, maximize your management initiative efforts, and drive project results through our advisors and consultants! Here’s what client’s think:
The folks at the NWIRC, and specifically the Strategic Business Advisor, were great to work with and we simply could not have achieved our ISO certification without their help. They worked with us from day one and continued to follow our progress throughout our quest in becoming ISO certification. I cannot even begin to say enough good things about his hands-on approach and follow-through.
The Northwest IRC was a great organization to work with. They provided help by listening and then being responsive, bringing resources to the table to address our need. This E3 assistance will ultimately make CTC a more competitive company and provide a more energy efficient and environmentally sound footprint. Thank you NWIRC!
In reference to their success with an Engineering Intern: “Matt really stepped up to become a valuable Sintergy team member. With his assistance on statistical process control and data collection, we are leaps and bounds ahead of where we were just a year ago.” Sintergy, Inc. CEO
Speaking about the STEM Manufacturing Internship Program: “NWIRC found us a candidate that exactly matched the profile we were looking for, including the programming skills needed for the job. It’s really tough to find a good match like that and the process takes a lot of time. We were able to give a student some real-life experience that, at the same time, resulted in project completion that is useful to our business growth."
Our emphasis has always been ‘safety first’, and with assistance from NWIRC, Sturgeon Consulting provided our plants and employees additional direction in the Master Safety Plan. We are assured of meeting all compliances while at the same time we have been able to lower our costs. It’s been a great program.
We appreciate the support that NWIRC provides to the region. Their apprentice program provided us a valuable candidate whose work will allow us to grow our business, better manage our costs, and improve through-put. Their service allowed us to find a highly qualified candidate in a short amount of time.
The NWIRC has been a great partner and has given us more information than other agencies in NW PA. They supported our efforts to establish a greater web presence and increase our customer count. They are true professionals with very fast response times and get it right the first time by truly listening to their clients.
This kind of technology will attract more young people into manufacturing. If our company didn’t keep up with technology we’d be out of business in less than ten years. The assistance of the NWIRC helped to solidify our direction and assisted in the pursuit and implementation of our new technology.
The Northwest Pennsylvania Industrial Resource Center has been a valuable partner and very supportive of our strategic business planning and growth efforts. CORE Value is a great tool to complement that strategy.
